Turkey will showcase the civilization and history of its historical cities,
especially the capital Istanbul, during World Expo 2010, in its interpretation
of the theme "Better City, Better Life."
The Turkish government announced the exhibition plan yesterday as it signed a
participation contract with organizers in the Turkey Pavilion at Expo Zaragoza
in Spain.
Turkey will rent a 2,000-square-meter pavilion and exhibit on the theme
"Anatolia: Cradle of Civilization." The country will also highlight how to
protect and develop historical cities in its exhibit.
Istanbul is the capital city of three ancient empires, the Roman, Byzantium
and Osman.
Turkey is the 56th participant to sign a contract with Expo 2010
organizers.
