Shanghai World Expo's promotion in Tokyo has proved a big success as many fun
activities have generated great excitement -- and plans to visit -- since they
were launched in March.
A promotion highlight invites people to collect 10 Expo seals beating such
patterns as the Shanghai Expo emblem, China Pavilion, the magnolia city flower
and iconic buildings at Shanghai.
Those who collected all the seals were eligible for a prize drawing. The
promotion wrapped up as 118 Japanese citizens won round-trip flight tickets to
Shanghai during Expo 2010 beginning in May, and free hotel stays.
Japanese participants said the promotion campaign was well designed and
enabled them to get a better understanding of the Shanghai Expo and the flavor
of Shanghai itself. The Expo theme is“Better City, Better Life.”
Other promotions in Japan involve photo exhibitions displaying the daily life
of Shanghai, its tourism attractions and the Expo. These were displayed on four
metro routes, the Hokuso Line, the Keisei Line, the Keikyu Line and the Toei
Oedo Line. The four trains operating the mobile photo show of 2,126 photos are
painted with the logo of World Expo 2010 and its mascot Haibao.
