Haibao, the Shanghai World Expo mascot, in the China
Jilin-Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo
Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo
Coordination and Chinese delegate to the Bureau of International Expositions,
delivered a report on preparations for the 2010 World Expo yesterday in
Changchun City in northeast China's Jilin Province.
It was one of a series of lectures at the 4th China Jilin-Northeast Asia
Investment and Trade Expo that opened yesterday and will run till this Saturday.
Zhou talked about the history and development of Expo, the progress of the
Shanghai Expo, the challenges and its significance.
Before the lecture, Zhou and Zhi Jianhua, Vice Chairman of Jilin CPPCC
unveiled a statue of the Expo mascot Haibao.
Shanghai Expo organizers have presented seven Haibao statues to Jilin. They
will go to the Changchun Longjia International Airport, the International
Convention and Exhibition Center, the Jinyuetan Forest Park and the
administration committees for Jilin, Siping, Yanji and Changbai Mountain.
